International Airports: First in Cambodia |
Société Concessionnaire des Aéroports (SCA), the airports developer and operator, has been awarded with the Quality Certificate ISO 9001:2008, the new version of the ISO 9001 standard family. The certification stands as evidence of efficient services offered to customers passing through Phnom Penh and Siem Reap international airports. The international airports are the first international company in Cambodia to have received the latest version of the Quality International Standard Certificate ISO 9001:2008 delivered in early year 2010 by UK based organization BM TRADA Certification, LTD |
The divisions awarded with the certification include: Airports Operations (the main one at both airports with a total of nearly 70% of the workforce), Strategic Planning Division and Airport Technical Design and Construction Division. Phnom Penh International Airport received its first ISO 9001 Quality Certification in 2003, making it one of the first certified airports in the South-East Asian region. The Quality Certification is instrumental in increasing customer’s confidence, further upgrading the company’s image and in creating new market opportunities. On the other hand, it is a key management tool allowing continuous improvement. |
Also, the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Certificate is recognized internationally as a best practice management tool, especially in the airport and air transport industries, endorsed by national and international organizations such the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation, the Airports Council International, the International Civil Aviation Organization and International Air Transport Association.
